Gymnasium Preparation 5th Grade Primary German
How are the courses organized?
In the 5th Grade Gymi Preparation German course, your child practices spelling, grammar, writing, and reading comprehension at an advanced level during one lesson per week. Exercises are used to review and deepen topics required for the entrance exam. The lessons include group activities as well as topics tailored to the child’s needs, which are worked on using exercise dossiers. A maximum of 5 children participate in the lessons; joining is possible at any time.
Who teaches and where do the courses take place?
Our teachers are carefully selected to help your child reach their full academic potential. In addition to a completed Matura and a University/ETH/FH degree, our teachers working at the primary level have experience in dealing with children, as well as the necessary patience and sensitivity.
The Open Learning Space premises in Seefeld, Wiedikon, and Oberstrass (District 6) offer an ideal learning environment for your child, where they can fully engage with the teacher and the subject matter.
What are the requirements for participating in the course?
The desire to transfer to a long-term Gymnasium after 6th grade should be clearly present. The grade point average in German must be at least 4.75. If this is not the case, we also offer a primary school course aimed at Sek A.
What distinguishes our Gymnasium preparation courses for primary school students?
The 5th Grade Gymi German courses build on the child’s existing skills. By repeating the basics and applying them to more difficult tasks, your child can experience a sense of achievement. Success increases the joy of language and the motivation to work on new content.
Trial lessons are free. (only possible for ongoing courses)
We would be happy to discuss with you whether participating in a course makes sense for your child. If so, they can come to a lesson to get to know the teacher and the learning atmosphere. Does your child feel comfortable? If so, they can start the following week. If not, we will work together to find a more suitable option.
