When is tutoring needed in primary school?
It is normal not to be equally good in all school subjects. A child in primary school needs support when their weaknesses weigh too heavily on their overall grades or when their enjoyment of school suffers. As parents, you are not always able to provide the best possible help, for example due to time constraints or because you do not have the necessary knowledge yourself. At the latest, when studying together comes at the expense of having fun together or even begins to strain the relationship with your child, we can relieve you through professional tutoring at the primary school level!

Who teaches and where does the primary tutoring take place?
Our teachers are carefully selected to help your child reach their full academic potential. In addition to a completed Matura and a university/ETH/FH degree, our teachers employed for the primary level have proven experience in dealing with children and the necessary patience and sensitivity. The premises of the Open Learning Space in Zurich Seefeld, Zurich Wiedikon, and Zurich Oberstrass (kreis 6) offer an optimal learning environment for your child, where they can fully engage with the teacher and the learning material.
By arrangement, however, tutoring can also take place online or at your home.
What do we need from you?
As a prerequisite, your child should bring a certain motivation to learn, as well as the will to invest some time and effort into academic improvement. They must support the tutoring project if it is to be successful.
You as parents are also part of the team for us. Our teachers regularly seek to exchange information with you and keep you up to date.
What distinguishes our primary tutoring?
The nature of our tutoring in Zurich for primary school students is strongly oriented towards the needs but also the possibilities of the child. Wherever possible, we try to achieve quickly visible results. However, our top priority is that the joy of learning is not lost. We take the necessary time so that your child truly understands the content and can also reproduce it sustainably. Our goal: your child should experience themselves as a competent learner who has succeeded through their own efforts.
We generally work with the learning materials brought by the child, but supplement these with proven teaching aids for the primary level, which are available at the Open Learning Space.

In a telephone conversation or by email, an initial assessment is made to determine the type and scope of the tutoring required. Which subjects are involved? Is it about specific content or does the subject as a whole cause difficulty? How far has the backlog progressed? How is the child feeling about it and how motivated are they to improve? It is also important to clearly define the goals of the tutoring: Should it be selective or long-term? How quickly must the grades improve?
In a free trial lesson, it is checked whether the type of tutoring and the teacher meet your expectations. If you decide to continue working with us, the tutoring lessons are then purchased in packages of 10 lessons each. This has proven effective because, in our experience, a smaller number of tutoring lessons is usually not enough to make significant progress. In exceptional cases, however, a smaller number of lessons can also be agreed upon.
