  • A degree pro­gram­me star­ted or com­ple­ted (university/ETH/UAS/UTE)
  • In-depth sub­ject know­ledge in the core subjects
  • A good rap­port with child­ren, teen­agers and young adults

OLS Management – Florian Blaser

Flo­ri­an Bla­ser is the foun­der and Head of Edu­ca­ti­on at Open Learning Space. After stu­dy­ing bio­lo­gy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich and com­ple­ting his trai­ning as a Gym­na­si­um tea­cher, he taught at various Gym­na­si­ums, at lower secon­da­ry level (Sekun­dar­stu­fe I) and at the voca­tio­nal bac­calau­rea­te school. Fol­lo­wing his pas­si­on for direct cont­act with stu­dents, he foun­ded Open Learning Space in 2016 in Zurich’s See­feld dis­trict, whe­re he grew up and lived until start­ing his own fami­ly. When­ever pos­si­ble, he tea­ches at Open Learning Space hims­elf, in par­ti­cu­lar Gymi pre­pa­ra­ti­on cour­ses as well as one-to-one tuto­ring in Ger­man, mathe­ma­tics and the natu­ral sci­en­ces. His goal: to fos­ter a love of learning in every moti­va­ted stu­dent through age-appro­pria­te support—so that ever­yo­ne can rea­li­se their per­so­nal poten­ti­al and have the best pos­si­ble oppor­tu­ni­ties in life.

Maria Roos

Maria is a qua­li­fied gym­na­si­um tea­cher with tea­ching expe­ri­ence at secon­da­ry and gym­na­si­um level. With gre­at com­mit­ment, she tea­ches mathe­ma­tics, che­mis­try, phy­sics, bio­lo­gy, Ger­man, Eng­lish and French at Open Learning Space Zurich. In addi­ti­on to tra­di­tio­nal tuto­ring, she spe­cia­li­ses in Matu­ra and gym­na­si­um pre­pa­ra­ti­on. For tuto­ring at gym­na­si­um level, Maria draws on a lar­ge pool of tea­ching mate­ri­als and past exams (espe­ci­al­ly from near­by gym­na­si­ums, e.g. Hohe Pro­me­na­de, Rämi­bühl, Stadelhofen).

Olivier Schnyder

Tutor Olivier Schnyder

Oli­vi­er stu­dies mecha­ni­cal engi­nee­ring at ETH Zurich. At Open Learning Space, he tea­ches mathe­ma­tics, natu­ral sci­en­ces, French, Eng­lish and Ger­man. As he grew up bilin­gu­al in French and Ger­man, he can sup­port our stu­dents par­ti­cu­lar­ly well in lan­guage learning.

Gabriel Zäch

Gabri­el stu­dies mathe­ma­tics at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich. At Open Learning Space, he is enga­ged as a cour­se lea­der for mathe­ma­tics and also pro­vi­des tuto­ring in mathe­ma­tics and physics. 

Gianna Gnehm

Gian­na stu­dies Ger­man lan­guage and lite­ra­tu­re at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich. At Open Learning Space, she tea­ches as a cour­se lea­der as part of the gym­na­si­um pre­pa­ra­ti­on pro­gram­me. She has gai­ned tea­ching expe­ri­ence as a tutor, class­room assistant and scout leader.

Eliza­beth is curr­ent­ly com­ple­ting a Bache­lor of Sci­ence in Bio­lo­gi­cal Sci­en­ces. She sup­ports our stu­dents in mathe­ma­tics and Eng­lish. As a for­mer pro­fes­sio­nal dancer, she has exten­si­ve expe­ri­ence in moti­va­ti­on, per­se­ver­ance and con­cen­tra­ti­on, which she pas­ses on to her stu­dents with ple­nty of posi­ti­ve energy.

Odi­lia stu­dies Ger­man and Eng­lish at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich. She is curr­ent­ly in tea­cher trai­ning to beco­me a Gym­na­si­um tea­cher for Ger­man and Eng­lish. At Open Learning Space, she tea­ches Ger­man, Eng­lish and Gymi pre­pa­ra­ti­on courses.

Nadia stu­di­ed phar­maceu­ti­cal sci­en­ces at ETH; in autumn she will start stu­dy­ing psy­cho­lo­gy at UZH. At Open Learning Space, she tea­ches mathe­ma­tics and natu­ral sci­en­ces. She also tea­ches French and Eng­lish, as she grew up multilingual. 

Mladen Djurdjevic

Sara stu­dies Health Sci­ence and Tech­no­lo­gy at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Zurich. At Open Learning Space, she tea­ches Ger­man, mathe­ma­tics and natu­ral sci­en­ces. Sara is invol­ved in a wide ran­ge of acti­vi­ties and has gai­ned tea­ching expe­ri­ence as a tutor, tea­ching assistant and group lea­der at children’s events.

Pierre is com­ple­ting a Master’s degree in Ger­man and Eng­lish lan­guage and lite­ra­tu­re. He sup­ports his stu­dents in Ger­man and mathe­ma­tics (lower secon­da­ry level/Sekundarstufe I). Essay trai­ning and grammar are two of his core com­pe­ten­ci­es, which he also tea­ches in one-to-one and group lessons.
