Preparation courses for gymnasium/FMS/BM1 2026/27
Would your child like to attend a gymnasium, an FMS, or a BMS in the Canton of Zurich? We offer students a supportive learning environment to prepare for the exams in Mathematics and German over 20 course half-days. Thanks to very small learning groups, all participants receive individual support. Our experienced teachers work with the participants to develop learning goals and show them how these can be reliably achieved. The classrooms are in prime locations in Zurich Seefeld, in Zurich Wiedikon, and in Oberstrass (kreis 6). Do you have any questions? We would be happy to personally introduce you to our preparation courses and recommend the right offer for your child.
Structure of the preparation courses for the gymnasium exam or FMS/BM1
We offer systematic preparation for the entrance exams of Zurich gymnasiums, specialized middle schools (FMS), and vocational baccalaureate schools (BMS). In small groups of a maximum of 5 participants, we review the relevant school material together and practice the various types of tasks using proven exercise materials and original exams. Intermediate tests after thematic blocks and regular individual assessments guarantee high teaching quality. During the 20-week courses, five essays are corrected and two exam simulations are conducted. The course folder is included in the course fee.
Exam subjects for the entrance examination
The entrance exams for the long-term and short-term gymnasium, for the HMS, and the FMS/BM1 take place in March. Students are tested in the subjects of German and Mathematics. The preliminary grades (February report card) count for 50 percent.
Requirements for course participation
Your child must be willing to do about two hours of additional homework per week in addition to their daily school routine. In the exam subjects, the preliminary grades should also be at least a 5 to have a realistic chance of passing the entrance exam.
For whom is a course recommended?
A preparation course is recommended for all candidates, as the exam material generally has a significantly higher level than what is covered in everyday school life. The will to attend the gymnasium and the willingness to work intensively for it and invest part of one’s free time are prerequisites for successfully passing the gymnasium or FMS/BM1 exam.
