Preparation courses for gymnasium/FMS/BM1 2026/27

Would your child like to attend a gym­na­si­um, an FMS, or a BMS in the Can­ton of Zurich? We offer stu­dents a sup­port­i­ve learning envi­ron­ment to prepa­re for the exams in Mathe­ma­tics and Ger­man over 20 cour­se half-days. Thanks to very small learning groups, all par­ti­ci­pan­ts recei­ve indi­vi­du­al sup­port. Our expe­ri­en­ced tea­chers work with the par­ti­ci­pan­ts to deve­lop learning goals and show them how the­se can be relia­bly achie­ved. The class­rooms are in prime loca­ti­ons in Zurich See­feld, in Zurich Wie­di­kon, and in Ober­strass (kreis 6). Do you have any ques­ti­ons? Structure of the preparation courses for the gymnasium exam or FMS/BM1

We offer sys­te­ma­tic pre­pa­ra­ti­on for the ent­rance exams of Zurich gym­na­si­ums, spe­cia­li­zed midd­le schools (FMS), and voca­tio­nal bac­calau­rea­te schools (BMS). In small groups of a maxi­mum of 5 par­ti­ci­pan­ts, we review the rele­vant school mate­ri­al tog­e­ther and prac­ti­ce the various types of tasks using pro­ven exer­cise mate­ri­als and ori­gi­nal exams. Inter­me­dia­te tests after the­ma­tic blocks and regu­lar indi­vi­du­al assess­ments gua­ran­tee high tea­ching qua­li­ty. During the 20-week cour­ses, five essays are cor­rec­ted and two exam simu­la­ti­ons are con­duc­ted. The cour­se fol­der is included in the cour­se fee. 

Exam subjects for the entrance examination

The ent­rance exams for the long-term and short-term gym­na­si­um, for the HMS, and the FMS/BM1 take place in March. Stu­dents are tes­ted in the sub­jects of Ger­man and Mathe­ma­tics. The preli­mi­na­ry gra­des (Febru­ary report card) count for 50 percent. 

Requirements for course participation

Your child must be wil­ling to do about two hours of addi­tio­nal home­work per week in addi­ti­on to their dai­ly school rou­ti­ne. In the exam sub­jects, the preli­mi­na­ry gra­des should also be at least a 5 to have a rea­li­stic chan­ce of pas­sing the ent­rance exam. 

For whom is a course recommended?

A pre­pa­ra­ti­on cour­se is recom­men­ded for all can­di­da­tes, as the exam mate­ri­al gene­ral­ly has a signi­fi­cant­ly hig­her level than what is cover­ed in ever­y­day school life. The will to attend the gym­na­si­um and the wil­ling­ness to work inten­si­ve­ly for it and invest part of one’s free time are pre­re­qui­si­tes for suc­cessful­ly pas­sing the gym­na­si­um or FMS/BM1 exam.
