Is your child only just pas­sing or even fai­ling in Ger­man or Mathe­ma­tics? In our school-accom­pany­ing cour­ses, we repeat and deepen the fun­da­men­tal topics of the 4th and 5th gra­de of pri­ma­ry school. A solid basis in Ger­man and Mathe­ma­tics makes the coming school years easier for your child and opens up the tran­si­ti­on to secon­da­ry school A. Les­sons take place weekly, and ent­ry is pos­si­ble at any time. A maxi­mum of 5 child­ren participate.

We offer tuto­ring in mathe­ma­tics in indi­vi­du­al and small group les­sons. Step by step, your child deve­lo­ps learning skills, which increa­ses moti­va­ti­on — math tuto­ring is fun when you have cla­ri­ty and thus bet­ter gra­des! Our tutors coach your child in exam pre­pa­ra­ti­on, learning stra­te­gies, and time manage­ment. Ambi­tious goals requi­re inten­si­ve preparation!

We offer various pre­pa­ra­ti­on cour­ses for the ent­rance exams for gym­na­si­ums in the Can­ton of Zurich. In our cour­ses, your child repeats exam-rele­vant topics, gets to know solu­ti­on stra­te­gies, sol­ves many exam tasks, wri­tes essays, and recei­ves feed­back. The cour­se mate­ri­als are tail­o­red to the gym­na­si­um exam. Your chil­d’s needs are at the cen­ter, becau­se Open Learning Space is a small, local school – we know our stu­dents per­so­nal­ly and value indi­vi­du­al support.

The start for the cour­ses for the short-term gym­na­si­um, long-term gym­na­si­um, and the FMS/BM1 cour­ses is always after the sum­mer and autumn holi­days. Each visit con­sists of 2 les­sons of 75 minu­tes each (M and D). We would be hap­py to inform you about available places in our gym­na­si­um cour­ses in Zurich. The ent­rance exam for the long-term gym­na­si­um requi­res an extre­me­ly solid basis in terms of grammar, voca­bu­la­ry, essay wri­ting, and rea­ding com­pre­hen­si­on. Often, sup­port in nor­mal ever­y­day school life is not enough to suf­fi­ci­ent­ly con­so­li­da­te the­se topics. We offer a school-accom­pany­ing cour­se in which the­se core topics are deepe­ned weekly as ear­ly as the 5th gra­de of pri­ma­ry school, so that our stu­dents can achie­ve good preli­mi­na­ry gra­des in Ger­man in the 6th gra­de and are well-pre­pared for exam trai­ning. The cour­se starts after the sports holidays.

Our gym­na­si­um pre­pa­ra­ti­on cour­ses for 5th gra­de pri­ma­ry mathe­ma­tics focus on con­so­li­da­ting basic ope­ra­ti­ons, word pro­blems, pro­por­tio­na­li­ty, and geo­me­try. The school-accom­pany­ing cour­se enables child­ren to achie­ve bet­ter preli­mi­na­ry gra­des at school and to gain the neces­sa­ry basis for exam trai­ning in the 6th gra­de. During one les­son per week, we work on the skills nee­ded to make the tran­si­ti­on to the long-term gym­na­si­um in the 6th gra­de. Cour­se ent­ry is pos­si­ble at any time.
