Mathematics tutoring small group primary school
When does a Mathematics tutoring course make sense?
Your child achieves only barely sufficient or even insufficient marks in Mathematics tests? The foundations for good mathematical basic knowledge are learned in 4th to 6th grade primary school. If too many gaps emerge here, the further school path can become laborious and demotivating. In the small group, we revise and consolidate the current school material so that gaps are closed and motivation for this subject is not lost.
Course Content
In the tutoring courses Mathematics for primary school pupils, we practice the basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division), proportionality, word problems, geometry and other topics during one lesson per week. Using exercise dossiers, topics are discussed and practiced where your child is uncertain. The lessons include group activities as well as content tailored to the child’s needs. Current school topics and questions about homework can be addressed, but fundamentally it is about identifying gaps and resolving them. A maximum of 5 children take part in the lessons, entry is possible at any time.
Who teaches and where do the courses take place?
Our teachers are carefully selected to help your child reach their full academic potential. In addition to a completed Matura and a University/ETH/FH degree, our teachers working at the primary level have experience in dealing with children, as well as the necessary patience and sensitivity.
The Open Learning Space premises in Seefeld and Zurich Wiedikon offer an optimal learning environment for your child, where they can fully engage with the teacher and the learning material.
What are the requirements for participating in the course?
Participating children should fundamentally agree with the course participation. This is certainly beneficial for motivation.
What distinguishes our tutoring courses for primary school students?
The tutoring courses in Mathematics build on the child’s existing abilities. Through assessments, gaps can be identified which can then be closed through regular practice. More self-confidence and better marks are the goal of the course.
Trial lessons cost nothing.
We would be happy to discuss with you whether participating in the course is suitable for your child. If so, they can attend a lesson to get to know the teacher and the learning atmosphere. Does your child feel comfortable? If so, they can start the following week. If not, we will work together to find a more suitable option.
